Access to client data is controlled through a multi-layered approach with access control at the physical, server and database access and location layers. Access to a specific client‘s Payroll Studio is controlled through payroll specialist login and the desktop location they are in. This prevents unauthorised access to client data through other office PC‘s. Desktops authorised to access data are further controlled by software that prevents any use of external storage media like flash cards and CDs.
Data is processed centrally in our Geneva Data Centre. Encrypted tape backups are stored at the data center in a physically separated and water/fireproofed area from the servers. For disaster recovery purposes we store a daily copy of the production data at our service centre in Budapest, Hungary. The data is encrypted and transferred via Intercomp Global Services internal VPN based network. Our Budapest facility is a secure and 24/7 monitored location and the backup data is held on a limited access server.
24/7 surveillance is in place including after hours private security at the only operational entrance to facilities. All visitors are prevented from operations areas unless escorted full time. All windows and doors are secured with contact sensor alarm monitors. CCTV is viewed by security personnel at dedicated stations. Humidity and smoke monitors are run in parallel and monitored in redundant locations. All communications have alternative back-up. Electrical power to the facilities has back-up infrastructure and emergency electrical generation provisions. All providers of Business Continuity altering services (i. e. ISP, telecom, security, transportation, procurement) have alternative providers under contract.
We do not transfer data physically except within the data centre. Network transferred data is send over our VPN network, which is by default encrypted.
